UTILITIES Gas, Water, Sewer, & Trash Services The Utility Collections office is located at 120 N Jackson Street on the main level of City Hall. The office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday. In order to obtain water, sewer, natural gas hookups and trash pickup an application for service and a deposit is required.
CREDIT CHECK: $5.00 charge *Deposits for renters are based upon a credit check. This credit check is done on-line and is complete within a matter of minutes. With Good Credit: Deposits are $25.00 water and $50.00 gas With No Credit or Unacceptable Credit: Deposits are $75.00 water and $150.00 gas
WATER RATE SCHEDULE EFFECTIVE DATE – July 1, 2002 The following rates shall be and are hereby established for the use of the waterworks system and for water supplied by the waterworks system in the City of Perryville effective July 1, 2002, for billing to be received by the customer in August, 2002. (Example: If four units, over 4,000 gallons) (2) Outside the city limits: $5.67 per living unit; then regular rates over the minimum rate. (3) In mobile home courts, one (1) master meter is permissible, but if mobile homes have separate meters, then the rates shall be the same as for residences, inside or outside the city limits. Multiple-dwelling units hereafter constructed or converted must be metered separately.

SEWER SERVICE CHARGE RATES ESTABLISHED EFFECTIVE DATE: July, 2002 There is hereby established a sewer user charge of Three Dollars and Eighty Cents ($3.80) per 1,000 gallons of water used to be levied against all residential, commercial and industrial users of the city sewer system, effective this 1st day of July, 2002, to be billed to customers for the 1st day of August, 2002, billing period.
TRASH COLLECTION RATES Residential trash rates are based upon the monthly water consumption. This rate will fluctuate monthly between the minimum and maximum. $3.35 minimum - $8.50 maximum Commercial trash rate is $15.00 per month. NATURAL GAS RATE SCHEDULE EFFECTIVE DATE MARCH 1, 2003 Rates 1. Residential and Commercial Customers. As provided in this Section, the charge for natural gas consumed by each residential and commercial customer, as measured by a meter shall be computed on a monthly basis at the following rates: Consumption Rates per mcf First 1,000 cubic feet or less (minimum charge):Within city limits.............................................$12.20 Outside city limits........................................... $13.45 Next 9,000 cubic feet......................................... $11.95 Next 15,000 cubic feet........................................ $11.85 Next 25,000 cubic feet........................................ $11.80 Next 50,000 cubic feet........................................ $11.65 2. Small Industrial Customer. The charges for natural gas consumed by each small industrial customer, as measured by a meter, shall be computed on a monthly basis at the rate of Eleven Dollars and Forty-Eight Cents ($11.48) per mcf; provided, however, that the minimum monthly bill under such small industrial rate shall be three hundred dollars ($300.00). 3. Medium Industrial Customer. Medium industrial customers must consume a minimum of one hundred ten thousand (110,000) mcf per year in order to qualify for this rate. A medium industrial customer must elect to be billed as a medium industrial customer by written application filed with the city clerk. The election to be billed as a medium industrial customer shall be effective and irrevocable for the ensuing fiscal year from April 1 to March 31. Large Industrial Customer. Large industrial customers must consume a minimum of one hundred seventy-five thousand (175,000) mcf per year in order to qualify for this rate. A large industrial customer must elect to be billed as a large industrial customer by written application filed with the city clerk. The election to be billed as a large industrial customer shall be effective and irrevocable for the ensuing fiscal year from April 1 to March 31. Sales Tax. For-profit organizations in the commercial, small industrial, medium industrial, and large industrial categories will be charged sales tax in addition to the established natural gas rates. 6. Billings Subject to State Sales Tax. All billings for natural gas consumed shall be subject to the state sales tax in effect at the time of billing.
COLLECTION PROCEDURE Meters are read between the 1st and 15th of each month. Bills are processed and then mailed on the last working day of the month. All bills are due on the 10th of the month. If not paid, a delinquent notice will be mailed. A $5.00 penalty will be charged to customer's account if notice must be mailed. If the city must discontinue service due to nonpayment, these charges must be paid before reinstatement of services:
If gas service is discontinued, upon resumption of such service, a licensed plumber must be available to light any pilot lights. (This is at the customer's expense.) If accounts are not paid, they will be turned over to the city attorney for collection. METHOD OF PAYMENT Cash, Check, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. You may either mail your payment to 120 N. Jackson St., utilize the night box on the front of the building, or make payment to the Collections window on the main level of City Hall 8:00 a.m. - 5:00.
